Det skyldes ikke mindst den n\u00e6rmest totale dominans i roadracing i 1960-70\u2019erne, i 250 cc og is\u00e6r 350 cc\u2019s klassen &#8211; med 2-takts-twin-modellerne TZ 250\/350. Kawasaki var n\u00e6rmeste 350 cc\u2019s 2-takts konkurrent til Yamaha dengang. Suzuki og Yamaha sloges om dominansen i 500 cc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">Som en naturlig konsekvens af succes\u2019en indenfor 2-takts roadracing, sendte Yamaha i 1967 den f\u00f8rste 350 cc 2-takts gademodel p\u00e5 markedet, baseret p\u00e5 erfaringer fra TZ 350 \u2013 og RD 350 var f\u00f8dt<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">Betegnelsen RD fik den dog f\u00f8rst i 1973.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">RD 350 er en s\u00e5kaldt \u201du\u00e6gte twin\u201d, dvs. at stemplerne ikke f\u00f8lges ad, op og ned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">Har alle dage v\u00e6ret 2 cyl., 2-takt \u2013 f\u00f8rst luftk\u00f8let, senere v\u00e6skek\u00f8let.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">2 stks. Mikuni karburatorer<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">RD 350 (kaldet RZ 350 i de fleste lande udenfor Europa) har v\u00e6ret en af verdens mest solgte mc\u2019er igennem tiderne. Blev is\u00e6r i de v\u00e6skek\u00f8lede versioner (fra 1980 og fremad) flittigt brugt til roadrace i den af Yamaha sponsorerede RD-cup. En \u00e5rligt tilbagevendende,  roadracing-serie p\u00e5 standard RD 350\u2019ere. Udviklingen af RD 350 fortsatte dog nogle \u00e5r endnu og tog et kraftigt skridt fremad, da den i 1983 fik YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) \u2013 og toppede omkring 1986, da den fik 4 hk ekstra, samt andre modifikationer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">RD 350 blev som Yamaha\u2019s 2-takts \u201dgadelink\u201d til roadracing, erstattet af TZR 250.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">RD-cup\u2019en blev sidst i 1980\u2019erne erstattet af Yamaha-cup, nu med standard TZR 250\u2019ere i stedet for standard RD\u2019ere. TZR 250 er med sit aluminiumsstel og indsugning direkte i krumtaphuset mere avanceret end RD 350. 2 cyl. 2-takt v-k\u00f8let r\u00e6kke-twin p\u00e5 128 kg og 50,3 hk ved 10.000 rpm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%;\">Er dog aldrig blevet n\u00e6r den samme succes som RD 350.
